Tornionjoki watershed flood guide for residents

Laplands's Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment has published a flood guide for the Lapland region in the spring of 2017, which provides instructions on how residents can prepare for floods and what they can do in the event of a flood situation to reduce flood damage. In addition, the guide has collected flood-related information from watersheds.

As part of the implementation of measures in the Tornionjoki and Haaparanta flood risk management plans, Laplands's Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, Norrbotten county government and the Finnish-Swedish border river commission have jointly prepared a flood guide for the residents of the Tornionjoki watershed, which also covers the Swedish side of the Tornionjoki watershed and thus serves residents on both sides of the border. Tornionjoki's flood guide was published in both Finnish and Swedish in the spring of 2018. The flood guides are available electronically from the publishing service Doria (doria.fi).
